Track rollers
Bottom rollers, also known as track rollers, are essential components for the undercarriage of excavators and bulldozers. Track rollers play a crucial role: they carry the entire weight of the machine and distribute it evenly over the rubber tracks or steel tracks. This allows the machine to remain stable even on uneven surfaces.

Types of track rollers
There are different types of bottom rollers, depending on the application and machine type:
Single flange bottom rollers with brackets:
These track rollers are characterized by the presence of 2 outer flanges (left and right). These rollers are mounted on an earthmoving machine by vertically screwing in 4 bolts through the bolt holes in the side mounting brackets. These rollers can be found on the majority of excavators from 8 tons upwards, such as: Hitachi ZX135 / ZX210 / ZX350… , Kobelco SK140 / SK210 / SK260…, Caterpillar 314 / 320 / 323 / 349…
Double flange bottom rollers with mounting brackets:
Unlike the single flange rollers, these rollers are designed with 2 additional flanges in the center of the roller. Again, the rollers are mounted to the machine by inserting vertically 4 bolts in the brackets. These rollers are most commonly found on bulldozers such as the Caterpillar D4 / D5 / D6 and the KOMATSU D51PX / D61PX / D65PX / D71PX. The additional flanges ensure excellent guidance of the track chains.
Center flange bottom rollers without brackets:
Single flange bottom rollers without mounting brackets:
These bottom rollers have one flange on each side. One can mount the track roller on the machine by horizontally screwing 2 bolts into the shaft of the roller. This type of roller is common on mini excavators such as the Kubota KX101-3 / KX121-3 / U55-4, Yanmar VIO35 / VIO57 etc.
Maintenance of bottom rollers
Regular inspection of bottom rollers is essential for a long service life of the undercarriage of your excavator or bulldozer. During an inspection one must pay attention to:
- Oil traces, whether dried up or not: if oil is lost, the inside of the roller can quickly wear out. Once the shaft of the roller is worn through, the bottom roller can come loose and cause damage to other components of the undercarriage, such as the track guards (chain guides) and track chains.
- Deformation or wear of the flanges: this can cause the track chain to be less guided. Which in turn can cause derailment of the track chains.
- Tread deformation: as a bottom roller wears out, the tread of the bottom roller becomes tubular. This deformation can in turn cause that the tread of the chains to be similarly deformed.
Why choose our track rollers?
Excellent quality and durability:
Our track rollers are manufactured from the finest materials and designed to withstand the harshest conditions. Whether you are working on rough terrain, in muddy environments or on construction sites full of crushed stone, our bottom rollers deliver unmatched performance. They feature high wear resistance and provide long-term reliability, minimizing downtime for your machine.
The hardness of the bottom roller of the undercarriage, as used on excavators and other tracked vehicles, is usually expressed in the unit HRC (Hardness Rockwell C). This is a measure of the material’s resistance to deformation, wear and impact. For bottom rollers, the typical hardness is usually between 48 and 55 HRC, depending on the size of the undercarriage and the machine. A balance must be struck between hardness and toughness when manufacturing track rollers. A hardness that is too high can lead to fragility (e.g., flanges breaking off), while too low can cause rapid wear (e.g., a tread worn in a short time). Therefore, bottom rollers are typically hardened via induction hardening or through-hardening, where only the surface is hardened to resist wear, while the inside remains relatively tough to absorb shock and loads. Choosing the right hardness for a track roller is essential to minimize wear and maximize the life of the undercarriage.
Maximum stability and efficiency:
The bottom rollers ensure even weight distribution and optimize the grip of the tracks on the ground. This translates into more efficient operation of your excavator, reduced fuel consumption and improved maneuverability, even on the most difficult terrains. You can rely on smooth operation and maximum productivity.
Compatible with all leading brands:
We offer trackrollers compatible with all major brands of excavators and bulldozers, including Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Hyundai, Kubota, Takeuchi, Liebherr and many more. Our extensive product range covers a wide range of applications: from 0.8-ton mini excavators to the heavier equipment of 90 tons and well above.
Low maintenance:
Our bottom rollers require minimal maintenance. Thanks to the presence of life-time seals, permanent lubrication of the internal shaft and bushings is guaranteed.
