Rubber track composition

Find out more about the composition of our rubber tracks for mini-excavators. If you are looking for a rubber track for your mini-excavator or dumper, please contact us immediately:

The rubber tracks for excavators are constructed using the following materials:

  • Vulcanized rubber
  • Steel cables
  • Steel links

Steel links

The links are manufactured from high-quality, wear-resistant steel. During production, the forged links undergo a hardening process, which gives them their final wear-resistant properties.

The links feature a specific shape that allows them to interlock with one another. This increases the rigidity of the rubber track and minimizes the risk of de-tracking.

Depending on the track type and application, the rubber track is assembled using links shaped to help reduce vibration (anti-vibration properties). Thanks to the staggered pattern and the shape of the steel links, the links form a nearly continuous track with only minor gaps between the links.

As a result, the undercarriage's bottom rollers receive constant support, effectively eliminating extreme vibration while driving.

Steel cables

Our JanssenTrack rubber tracks for mini-excavators utilize two steel cables. These cables are selected for their ability to withstand high levels of elongation and tensile stress. In turn, the cables are composed of multiple steel strands braided together.
Each of the two cables is wound multiple times; in other words, a cross-section of the rubber track reveals multiple passes of each cable, as shown in the image below. The cables are treated with an anti-corrosion coating.

Vulcanized rubber

Following a vulcanization process, the rubber used completely encapsulates the cables and links. Prior to vulcanization, the steel components are treated with a special coating to ensure better rubber adhesion.

A rubber track is not manufactured in a single operation but rather in a segmented manner. Depending on the track's length, it must pass through the mold two to four times to achieve its final shape.
