Identification of a rubber track :
To ensure that the right rubber track is delivered for your mini-excavator, you must first determine the dimensions of the rubber track.
In the first instance, we try to determine this by using the brand and type of the machine.
You can always find this data on the identification plate on the machine.
If it proves impossible to determine the type of your machine, you must identify the size of the rubber track.
Rubber tracks are generally characterized by 3 parameters (C x A x B):
- The width of the track (C)
- The pitch of the track (A)
- Number of links (B)
This information is usually found on the inside surface of the rubber track (D).

For example :
A KUBOTA U20-3 mini excavator, is equipped with tracks which have the following dimensions "250x47x84".
So in this case the indicated numbers have the following meaning:
- "250" indicates a width of 250mm
- "47" indicates 47mm pitch
- "84" indicates the number of links
More driving comfort with the “short-pitch” rubber tracks :
Most mini excavators can be equipped with rubber tracks of the long-pitch type or with an equivalent short-pitch track.
The long-pitch rubber tracks are characterized by the presence of a longer distance between links.
So a short pitch rubber track has a shorter distance between links, the distance in between is usually half the length of the corresponding long-pitch rubber track.
To make sure that the short-pitch rubber track has the same length as the long-pitch rubber track, the shorter pitch length is compensated by the presence of a double number of links.
As a result, the track rollers are always supported, resulting in less vibrations and shaking while driving.
At JanssenTrack we believe that driving comfort and productivity go hand in hand, which is why we only supply short-pitch tracks where possible.
